Al-Kadhimi and Erdogan discuss strengthening economic cooperation

Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara where they discussed strengthening economic co-operation between the two countries.

According to Iraqi news sources, the Iraqi PM arrived in Ankara on Thursday, December 17, at the head of a high-level delegation to review the strengthening of joint cooperation between the two countries and to discuss issues and cases of concern to both countries.

Mustafa al-Kadhimi's office issued a statement and stated that: "During the meeting with Erdogan, the Prime Minister discussed and exchanged views on the relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them in various fields, as well as examining the issues of concern to the two countries."

The meeting also discussed ways to boost economic co-operation between Baghdad and Ankara and to invite Turkish companies to invest in various sectors of the Iraqi economy, the statement added.
