Yusuf Suleiman, head of the Denmark organization of the Kurdistan Democratic Party – Syria, told KurdPress in an interview that there are a lot of challenges ahead of Syria Kurds and they need to settle their differences through talks and negotiations

"I believe that the American presidential elections are the subject of great international attention because of their impact on the whole world. The positive impression in most countries of the world, especially European countries and the free democratic world, is the success of the long-standing political and diplomat Joe Biden, who formed a new hope for the return of the language of diplomacy, dialogue, rationality and calm. To the relations between America and the countries of the world, especially after four lean years of the populist and emotional rule of Donald Trump, who created many crises in the world between America and many countries of the world, including America's friends such as the European Union or its enemies like Iran and others, which increased the gap between the Americans themselves and increased their problems and  The pace of racism in their countries, especially between white racists and immigrants of African or Asian descent or other immigrants." he said about the possible impact of US President-elect Joe Biden's win in last month US elections on the situation of the Kurds in Syria.

The Kurdish official further added that " I believe that Joe Biden is well-versed in the Korean issue in general and in all parts of Kurdistan and his positive impression on the Kurds in general have good and positive old friendship relations with the leader Masoud Barzani (Kurdistan Democratic Party) and with many political figures from the Kurds of Southern Kurdistan, especially the officials of the institutions of the federal and internationally recognized Kurdistan Region of Iraq."

"All of these positive atmospheres and objective circumstances will positively cast a shadow over Joe Biden's interest in the Kurdistan Region of Syria, but our own conditions we, the Kurds of Syrian Kurdistan, are difficult and we have many challenges between us, the Kurds ourselves, and between us and the Syrian opposition in general, and even between us and the regime, there are problems, difficulties and great challenges," Mr. Suleiman said about the situation of the Kurds. 

"An alternative for us is to sit at the negotiating table and listen to each other in a sincere spirit of brotherhood and heal the wounds with a set of necessary and inevitable measures, including, but not limited to, the release of all abducted and political detainees, and the transparent disclosure of their fate, the end of compulsory conscription and the release of public freedoms, including freedom of political action and work," he further added.

"On the return of the displaced and immigrants with a set of measures and measures that stimulate their return, such as securing a decent and decent life for these people, securing the necessary life necessities such as food, drink, housing and a decent source of livelihood, unifying the Kurdish political discourse, forming an inclusive, comprehensive and effective Kurdish authority on the ground, and the effective participation of civil society organizations of all spectrums," he also said.

He also said that "I believe that Joe Biden's administration will look at everything I mentioned above positively and will support this trend and help the success of these projects, but the big question remains, and the secret and the reason for the success of all that I mentioned, we, the Syrian Kurds ourselves, are we up to the challenges of this sensitive and articulated phase of the region’s history in general?  Syria and Syrian Kurdistan in particular?"
