A member of the political school of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party (Al-Parti) said: "Trump did not know politics, during his time the Kurds suffered a lot but Biden (US President- elect Joe Biden will follow a softer towards Kurds."
"The American political system is not written by one person and all policies are not adopted and implemented by one person," Hussein Masto, a member of the political school of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party (Al-Parti), told KurdPress.
"The United States has a complex and structured political system in which decision-making bodies determine the national interests of the United States, but the president's order also influences some executive policies," the Syrian Kurdish politician further said.
Mr. Masto added: "The Kurds have done a lot of service to the United States in the last few years, but they have not received much in return," adding that "Biden is a little softer towards the Kurds and has a history of cooperating with the Kurds."
The member of the political school of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party (Al-Parti) noted: "Biden is considered a friend of the Kurds. We hope that in the new Middle East, Biden will be able to support the rights of the Kurds in Syria."
Hussein Masto reminded: "Trump forgot the role of the Kurds in the fight against ISIS and opened the way for Turkey and Salafi jihadist groups to attack Syrian Kurdistan."
